Secondment Opportunity: Executive Director

Duration: March 1st, 2024, to February 28, 2026 (up to 40% whole-time equivalent)

Location: Home institution with necessary travel

Specific Skills and Qualifications Required:

Currently hold a senior academic/management position at any of the member schools of the Association with previous experience working on the European Universities initiative (UL, TLU, IADT, LUCA).

Purpose and Objectives of the Secondment:

The Executive Director shall assist the Board of Directors and President of the FilmEU Association VZW.

The primary tasks include:

Advising and assisting the board in administrative, institutional, and external matters.

Managing contacts with national authorities and EU institutions.

Undertaking tasks delegated by the board in directing the association's operation.

Reporting Structure During Secondment:

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors of the FilmEU Association.

Expectations:

During the secondment, the Executive Director will be responsible for:

  • Implementation and coordination of all administrative, legal, and financial matters.
  • Handling infrastructural matters of the association.
  • Responsible for carrying out tasks, deliverables, milestones in projects attributed to the FilmEU Association
  • Executing tasks assigned by the President and Board of Directors.
  • Liaising with stakeholders in the network of the European University FilmEU.
  • Representing the association in interactions with Belgian authorities, the European Commission and managing interactions funders systems (e.g. EU funding and tenders portal, the EIT Plaza, etc.)
  • Assisting in fundraising activities.
  • Managing the secretariat of the association.

What We Hope to Achieve:

Through this secondment, we aim to establish the association as a vital body supporting the ongoing work of the European University FilmEU.

Training and Professional Development Opportunities:

Training and professional development opportunities will be negotiated.

Expectations of the Secondee:

The secondee must have the support of the rector/president of their institution.
