What will cinema-going look like after the crisis and what will lure audiences back to cinema theatres? The talk envisions future elements of cinema culture by drawing on the speaker’s ongoing PhD research project, which deals with how film experiences are being shaped by production, distribution, exhibition, and consumption practices.
Sten Kauber is a junior research fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Media Innovation and Digital Culture at Tallinn University and a freelance film critic. He is currently finishing his PhD dissertation, which examines Estonian film audiences multidimensionally by focusing on the practices that shape and encourage film consumption. His research interests include audience studies, production studies, film culture, film criticism, and material culture.
