Born in UAE in 1998, that’s when my story starts. My name is Tamara Abdul Khalek. A Syrian illustrator and animator who graduated from LUCA School of Arts with distinction and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Animation film. I’m 25 years old and I’ve been living in Belgium since I was 19. Prior to that I was studying interior design in Istanbul Turkey. Here I found my dream study and of course I am more than proud to have pursued it and graduated from it. I’ve always been into art, animated films and games and therefore becoming an animator has completed half of my dream of getting closer to creating the things that I like. And to eventually make animated films/series that represent and resemble me. My works as an artist differ in style and explore various ideologies ranging from realism, semi-realism to cartoons and many others. They come in different forms and mediums. I’m always going to be an artist in the making as I enjoy discovering new art mediums and I enjoy what I do despite any inconsistencies in my styles and interests. I believe that as an artist I should have the liberty to explore a wide array of topics and concepts, and my stance is that I will never surrender to being defined by one form of art.
