Lusófona will host 3 sessions of CINANIMA festival on 7th, 14th and 28th October.

CINANIMA at Universities is part of the Pre-Festival, a genuine invitation to what is to come in the following month: the 46th Edition of the Festival, which will take place from November 7th to 13th, in Espinho, and will include an Open Jump loaded with creative initiatives on November 5th and 6th.

The programme, which began in 2014 and focuses on film education, is now directed at 16 higher education institutions in Portugal and takes place mostly during the month of October. It comprises the screening of three programmes of high-quality animated films aimed at both the academic community and the general audience.

The initiative, which began in 2014 with six academic partners, has grown to include 16 higher education institutions, reaching new publics and territories. It promotes the screening of 30 animated short films in the auditoriums of academic institutions and other cultural spaces across each city.

The first partner to receive the initiative will be the University of Madeira (UM), in Funchal, followed by the University Lusófona of Humanities and Technology (ULHT) in Lisbon, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, in Mirandela, the University of Beira Interior, in Covilhã, the Universities of Coimbra, Aveiro, and Porto, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, Higher School of Art and Design - ESAD (Matosinhos), University of Algarve (Faro), University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro - UTAD (Vila Real), University of Minho (Braga and Guimarães), Polytechnic Institute of Cávado e Ave - IPCA (Barcelos) and Higher School of Media Arts and Design - ESMAD (Vila do Conde).
