The DocNomads joint master's program has once again showcased the creative excellence of its students with a remarkable presence at international film festivals across Europe and Asia. In recent months, several DocNomads films have been selected for prestigious events in Italy, India, Sweden, Czechia, Germany, and Ukraine.
At the Festival dei Popoli in Italy, one of the most recognized documentary film festivals in Europe and the oldest, DocNomads students' works received significant attention. That Tiny Place Where Light Comes In (Giulianna Camarena Montenegro) and Home is 1117 KM Away (Marta Smerechynska), were presented in the section “DOC at Work Future Campus”.
In Asia, DocNomads students also left a mark at the Mumbai International Film Festival in India, where Coming Back to Life (Mantra Watsa) won the Special Jury Prize in the competitive section Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films. In Flanders Fields (Sachin) was also selected for the Focus South Asia section.
Further north west, Uppsala, Sweden, another DocNomads film captivated audiences, Perfected Grammar (Andrea Suwito) was selected for the international competition at the 43rd Uppsala Short Film Festival.
Central Europe also witnessed the talents of DocNomads students at both the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival in Czechia and DOK Leipzig in Germany.
Smoke of the Fire was screened in Ji.hlava and
I Stumble Every Time I Hear from Kyiv in Leipzig, both directed by Daryna Mamaisur.
Meanwhile, in Eastern Europe, Lesia Diak went back home with her film Wounds at the Molodist Film Festival in Ukraine.
