FilmMemory aims to study audiovisual heritage, its preservation, restoration and use in the current context.
The program focuses not only on working with film archives, but also on other contemporary challenges, including the role of digital media, associated tools and skills, addressing emerging possibilities with regard to the scope and dissemination of film heritage material.
As a joint master's program taught in four European countries, FilmMemory thoroughly interrogates the social, political and industrial diversity of European film cultures. This includes the analysis of historical and contemporary modes of production, distribution and presentation, as well as the contextualization of film material within the discourses of reception, criticism and scholarship.
Students will have the opportunity to explore the different forms of archiving, preservation, restoration, recirculation, reuse and reconstruction of films and documents about film cultures.
The master will open calls soon, stay tuned.
