FilmEU+ Imagination Challenge 2024 Kick Off

FilmEU+ Imagination Challenge 2024 Officially Kicks Off with Collaborative Workshops to Bridge the Gap Between Gen Z and European Cinema

FilmEU+ is excited to announce the official launch of the Imagination Challenge 2024, which began with two days of hands-on online workshops on October 4th and 5th.

This initiative brings together 23 students from eight FilmEU universities to tackle the pressing challenge of how European cinema can better connect with Gen Z audiences.

The challenge offers a unique opportunity for students to collaborate directly with filmmakers whose projects are screening at Just Film, part of the PÖFF Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. With guidance from a diverse mentor board – including experts in marketing, film distribution, and immersive technologies – the students will work to generate fresh ideas and strategies that bridge the gap between young audiences and European films.

As part of this challenge, students will conduct in-depth audience research and collaborate on creative solutions aimed at fostering stronger connections between Gen Z and cinema.

The results of their work will be showcased at the Just Film Industry days and as part of FilmEU Summit and Industry Conference, taking place in Tallinn from 18-21 November.

FilmEU+ is proud to partner with PÖFF Just Film Festival for this year’s challenge. The mission of the Imagination Challenge is to foster collaboration between academia, students, and the film industry, addressing critical issues and pushing the industry forward through innovation and diversity.

This initiative offers FilmEU students the chance to work alongside filmmakers, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange.
