Lessons in Film - Estonian Film Festival

On 27 September, award-winning directors Ms. Anna Hints and Mr. Tushar Prakash gave a masterclass at Cinema Fernando Lopes, where their newest short film "Sauna Day" was screened. The world premiere of "Sauna Day" took place as part of the Critics' Week (La Semaine de la Critique) program at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Cannes Queer Palm Award.

The masterclass took place within the framework of the Estonian Film Focus from 26 to 29 September, which also featured Anna Hints’ documentary "The Smoke Sauna Sisterhood" (2023), and the feature films "The Invisible Fight" (2023, dir. Rainer Sarnet) and "Dark Paradise" (2023, dir. Triin Ruumet), together with Tartu 2024 Culture Capital shorts "Hilda Ha. Off the Grid" (2024, dir. Eva Kübar, Estonia) and "The House" (2024, dir. Carl Olsson, Estonia/Sweden). The event was organized in cooperation with University Lusofona, FilmEU, Cinema Fernando Lopes, the Estonian Film Institute, and the Embassy of Estonia in Lisbon.
