The short film “Days Without” (2021) directed by Ívar Eri Yeoman (Iceland), developed with an international crew, and filmed in Estonia as part of the master's degree Kino Eyes, was nominated for the Cinematography award at the Watersprite Film Festival (UK).
Watersprite Film Festival is the UK’s largest international student film festival, with the aim of discovering new film talent. The festival showcases the best student films and promotes free Q&A events with directors, actors, and leading screen industry professionals. This year, the Watersprite Film Festival will take place between March 4th and 6th, online and in person.
With more than 1400 film submissions from 100 different countries, “Days Without” was among those selected. The short film tells the dramatic story of 28-year-old Nikolai and his mentally ill wife. After a chaotic episode, Nikolai must take care of their baby daughter until she returns. As time goes by, he begins to doubt they will ever see each other again.
The Kino Eyes Film Masters is a unique film making MA split between four different film schools in four different European states: Lusófona University (Portugal), Screen Academy Scotland in Edinburgh/ Napier University, (UK), Baltic Film and Media School (Estonia) and IADT (Ireland).
